VTT Downhill Mountain Biking this Summer 2013
Chamonix is a great place to experience some of the steepest and most technical terrain that the Alps has to offer for Downhill Mountain Biking.
LE TOUR - Domaine du Blame will be opening it's lifts of Charamillion Chairlift from the 15th June 2013. This allows access to a new track from the top to the super fun, flowing decent under the gondola.
LES HOUCHES announced they will once again be opening the area for VTT this summer, after closure of summer 2012. The Bellevue and Prarion Gondolas will open from the 15th June.
Lepetit Didi Dance
For both English and French toddlers. Lepetit Didi Dance is aimed at the under 4's and is not only a great way of keeping fit and active, but it is also great fun!
Nursery rhymes and actions in both English & French, songs and music to fill 45 minutes of jumping, signing, clapping, turning, galloping, moving & shaking!
Even if they are too young, you can sit and bounce to the beat and songs together.
Parents and nannies are encouraged to join in and share the enjoyment with their Didi Dancer until their confidence grows to a level when you take a well earned rest and sit back and watch their funky moves!

A message from a Mother in Chamonix
I am always on the hunt for new adventures & activities. The list is endless for both indoor & outdoor fun.
Sunny days, take your pick from a visit to the Swiss Alpine Zoo: Les Marécottes or Parc de Merlet Les Houches. This is a park with mountain animals moving freely. It is not a zoo and picnics and dogs are forbidden. Nearby to the golf course is Paradis des Praz where there are play areas, adventure slides, pony rides, snack areas. There are also equestrian centres in the valley. A mini train ride takes you and your family around Chamonix, visiting monuments, architecture and panoramic views. Finally Parc de Loisirs at Les Planards, is full of activities for all the family.
Rainy days, a few suggestions would be bowling (although no bowling aids for the younger children), ice rink (subject to availability, borrow a metal frame to help support your child on the ice…or you!) and the indoor swimming pool. Also there is a great child care centre in Cham Sud called Le Petit VIP who host all sorts of arts & crafts for children over 6yrs of age!

Please remember! It is not advisable to take children under 3 years of age to above 2000 metres altitude.
Avoid using cable cars if your children are full of cold or have sinus problems.
Make sure your children wear sunglasses and sun block.
Make sure they drink plenty of water and often.
