Vallorcine

Located at the foot of the Mont Blanc Vallorcine (3670m) is a tiny and so far unspoilt little ski village located within the Chamonix Valley and forming part of the Le Tour/Domaine de Balme ski. Vallorcine becomes alive in the summer time with visitors and tourist attractions for all the family. This authentic mountain village is ideal for hiking, mountain biking, pony riding, climbing and visiting The Emosson Dam.

In winter, access to the Balme (Le Tour) slopes, via the new gondola, attracts beginners to advanced skiers, not to mention the Poya snowfield that is perfect for family skiing.

Vallorcine is a great place to spend a day on the 10 km of cross-country ski trails, starting from the X-Country Ski Center, or from Le Buet. The circuit is in an authentic and colourful setting, along the Eau Noire River, surrounded by woody and hilly landscapes, perfect for beginners and intermediate skiers.

This is also a great place to try snowshoeing or for the more adventurous you can start from the top of the Vallorcine gondola and walk up towards Les Posettes.
